Travel Intelligence Platform
Romieaux™
Journey, Elevated.
Trips designed around you
What you're looking at
This is a working prototype of Romieaux, a travel intelligence platform. Two things are running side by side.
Seven trips are pre-built — three are previewable directly below. Real itineraries with real numbers, written in advance so you can walk through a finished trip end to end without waiting on anything.
“Generate a trip live” is not pre-built. You answer the same questions a real traveler would, Claude proposes actual venues and activities for your dates, and then the math runs here in your browser — every dollar figure in that trip is computed on the spot against a stated baseline, not written by the AI.
What this demo does not do: it doesn't book anything, take payment, or create an account. Sharing and invitations are simulated. Nothing you enter leaves your browser except what generates your trip — your answers and your API key, sent only to Anthropic.

What this activates
Set each child's age and Romieaux adjusts everything — pacing, dining options, activity filtering, safety alerts, stay requirements, and scheduling. Infants, toddlers, kids, and teens each get tailored intelligence.

TRIP FINANCES · STEP 1 OF 4
Trip Finances
How are you paying for this trip?
Every trip handles money differently. Pick the shape that matches this one — you can override specific categories on the next screen.
🧍
Everyone pays their own way
Each adult handles their own bookings and expenses. Simpler. Used when friends travel together or adults want financial independence.
🤝
Split everything equally
All adults split the trip evenly. Live ledger tracks who paid what; one-tap settle-up at the end. Default for couples and peer groups.
🎁
One person hosts (covers everything)
One traveler pays. Common for parents hosting adult children, grandparent multi-gen trips, anniversary surprises. The host controls budget visibility.
🎛️
Custom per category
RECOMMENDED FOR FAMILIES
Different rules per category. Example: parents host stays and activities, adults split dining. Real families usually need this.
TRIP FINANCES · STEP 2 OF 4
Per-Traveler Split
Who is contributing what?
Assign how the $10,800 budget is split. Children default to being covered by a parent.
Total Trip Budget
$10,800
Assigned
$10,800

Why this matters
Every booking Romieaux makes tracks to the right wallet. Flights on Dad's Sapphire earn points on Dad's account. Kids' museum tickets roll up to whichever parent claims them. The ledger stays clean from Day 1.
TRIP FINANCES · STEP 3 OF 4
Who Sees What
Privacy per traveler.
You're hosting this trip — but not everyone needs to see every number. Kids shouldn't see the flight cost. A partner shouldn't see a surprise activity before the day it happens.
Surprise Mode
Optional
Hide specific activities from specific travelers
Like a surprise birthday dinner, or an anniversary activity planned for your partner. They see "••• Reserved for you" in the itinerary, with the reveal on the day itself.

Here's how it'll look.

What happens next
· Every booking routes to the right wallet automatically
· Each traveler's ledger updates in real time as the trip unfolds
· Settle-up at the end generates one-tap Venmo/Zelle links
· Change these rules anytime from Settings > Trip Finances

FAQ
Common Questions
What people ask before they start.
Is Romieaux free to use?
+
Yes. The Explorer tier is free and gives you nine core modules — Activities, Dining, Transportation, Stays, Safety & Prep, Accessibility, Payment Checklist, Memory Book, and Reminders. No credit card required. Add bundles or All-Access whenever you're ready for more.
How does group pricing work?
+
Only the Trip Owner needs a subscription. When you create a trip and invite friends or family, your subscription covers intelligence for everyone on that trip. Invitees create free accounts and get full access to the trip's itinerary, polls, budget alignment, and all active modules.
What's the difference between bundles and All-Access?
+
Bundles ($9.99/mo each) group modules by travel style — Explorer, Smart Traveler, Family, Solo, Couples & Celebrations. All-Access ($29/mo or $299/yr) gives you every module and every engine. If you travel often or with different kinds of groups, All-Access pays for itself quickly.
Can I cancel anytime?
+
Yes. All subscriptions are month-to-month with no long-term commitment. Cancel anytime from Settings. Your data and profile are always yours — they persist even on the free tier. Annual plans can be cancelled with a prorated refund.
Does Romieaux book travel for me?
+
Romieaux is a travel intelligence platform, not a booking engine. It designs your experience, organizes your planning, and links you to book through the providers you already trust. You control where and how you book — Romieaux just makes sure every decision is a good one.
What is My Profile?
+
Your profile is a record of how you travel — your energy level, trip style, budget, dietary needs, music taste, and more. It grows with every trip as Romieaux learns what works for you. Every recommendation is shaped by your profile, not generic data.
Can I travel with pets?
+
Yes. Toggle "Traveling with a pet?" during onboarding to activate free pet-friendly filtering across stays, transport, dining, and activities. The Pet Travel module (Couples & Celebrations Bundle) unlocks deeper intelligence including breed-specific airline restrictions, quarantine rules, and Dogpack integration.
Is my data secure?
+
Security and privacy come first. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and we follow SOC 2, GDPR, and CCPA standards. Your profile and trip data are never sold. You can export or delete your data anytime from Settings.
Does Romieaux support accessibility needs?
+
Yes. During onboarding, toggle "Any accessibility needs?" to activate accessible stays, step-free routes, adapted transport, and proximity to medical facilities across every module. Select from wheelchair/mobility device, limited mobility, visual impairment, hearing impairment, sensory sensitivities, or add custom notes. Accessibility filtering is always free — it's never gated behind a paid tier.
Are there senior, military, or student discounts?
+
Romieaux surfaces discount intelligence at attractions, transit, and dining through optional Discount Profiles in Settings. Age-based discounts show tiered brackets (50+ through 65+) so you determine which apply. Military/Veteran status is encrypted, US-domestic only by default, auto-suppressed for sensitive destinations, and never visible to trip companions. Student, AAA, and Government/First Responder profiles are also available.

Le Sirenuse: pay with Chase points, not cash.
Your Sapphire Reserve transfers to World of Hyatt at 1:1, and Le Sirenuse is bookable through Hyatt's Small Luxury Hotels collection. 22,000 points = 3 nights that price at $1,860 cash. That's 8.5¢ of value per point — more than five times the 1.5¢ Chase pays out as cash — and by decision time the flexible rate for your dates had climbed to $2,200. The early points hold kept $340.

Sapphire Reserve earns 3× worldwide on dining — best in your wallet for restaurants. Flights and hotels booked direct also earn 4× on Sapphire. Across ~$1,400 of dining + trip spend, 4,200 Sapphire points at 1.5¢ transfer value = $63.

Hôtel Particulier in Montmartre — five rooms in a hidden mansion. Stay Advisor chose this over the Bristol for the privacy and the garden breakfast.

Biscuit cleared in 12 minutes at LIS PIF. Memmo Alfama had a bowl and bed in the room at check-in. Pet-friendly terraces and Jardim do Príncipe Real became the social anchor of the trip.
🏛 Stay
Memmo Alfama, boutique with panoramic terrace and dedicated pet amenities. Stay Advisor ranked it over Altis Avenida for the quieter street and two terrace tables they hold for dog-families.
🎨 Day 3 · The Tile That Got Framed
LX Factory tile-painting workshop. Each family member made one. Lucas\'s hangs in the kitchen now. Elena\'s was mostly blue paint on her dress, but she is proud of it.
🚂 Sintra Day · Train Beat Private Driver
€8.60 ($9.37) family round-trip from Rossio vs €160 ($174) quote for private transfer. The train was half the fun. Lucas treated it as the activity. Biscuit slept both ways.
🎶 Day 9 · Clube de Fado (Parents\' Night)
The sitter the concierge vetted. Two hours out — just Jordan and Alex, the way the trip started. Jordan kept it a surprise from Alex until they were at the door. The first fadista sang for eleven minutes without stopping. Neither of them spoke on the walk back.
Reflection
"Day 4 earned its keep. The defended rest day we almost overrode. Lucas slept in, Elena took her nap, Biscuit got three real walks, and the parents sat at the Príncipe Real quiosque for two hours. The first solo trip. Came in $200 under budget on a trip most people overspend on. The Blue Lagoon splurge was intentional. Everything else got engineered.
Highlights
🏨 Stay
Two stays, split. Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon on the south coast (base for Jökulsárlón), then The Retreat at Blue Lagoon for the final two nights — the trip's splurge, booked through Hyatt transfer partners.
🌌 The Peak Night
Night 4, clear skies south of Vík. KP-5 aurora activity. The whole sky moved. The guide said it was the strongest he'd seen that season. No one else in the group spoke for ten minutes.
🚗 Ring Road Driving
4WD rental, self-drive south coast. Seljalandsfoss (walked behind the waterfall), Skógafoss, Reynisfjara black sand beach, Jökulsárlón iceberg lagoon. Done on my own pace, stopping when the light was right.
🍽 Dining
Dill in Reykjavík for the tasting menu — the trip's one restaurant splurge. Otherwise: Reykjavík Roasters for coffee, bakery pastries on the road, soup at guesthouses along the coast. Food costs stayed under budget because Icelandic restaurants are brutal.

Romieaux checked four carriers for this route. TAP won for three reasons:
✈️
Direct flight · 7 hours
No layover with a dog under the seat
🐕
ESA policy on US routes
TAP still accepts ESA documentation transatlantic · Delta does not
🚫
American Airlines ruled out
No in-cabin pets transatlantic · Cargo-only would be a no for a small dog this age
On the Ground in Lisbon

🌳 Walking Routes

🍽 Dining With Biscuit

🏥 Emergency Vet
Hospital Veterinário Anjos de Assis · 24/7 · 8 min from hotel by Bolt · Saved to your phone under emergency contacts.
Cultural note
Portugal's 2017 law classifies pets as "sentient beings," not property. The culture reflects that — Biscuit will be treated as family, not a nuisance. Portuguese is one of the few places where a small dog at dinner is less remarkable than a child who is not there.

How This Works
Cost Intelligence is a digest, not a separate engine. Each decision lives in its home module — Stays, Credit Card, Smart Check. This view aggregates them so you can see every cost trade-off in one place. The $1,392 total isn't a magic number; it's the sum of 9 interventions you can audit one by one.
INSURANCE
Active Intelligence · What You Already Have
You're more covered than you think.
Don't pay for what your cards already do.
Already Covered
Trip cancellation up to $10,000.
Your Sapphire Reserve covers cancellation if you or your travel companion gets sick, hurt, or has to cancel for one of 13 covered reasons. Both flights and Le Sirenuse are eligible because you booked them on the card.
Already Covered
Trip delay reimbursement after 6 hours.
If your flight delays push past 6 hours or require an overnight stay, Sapphire reimburses up to $500 per ticket for meals, lodging, and essentials. No claim form headache — just save receipts.
Already Covered
Primary rental coverage in Italy.
If you decide to rent a car for a day trip down the coast, decline the rental company's collision waiver — Sapphire's primary coverage applies in Italy and most of Europe. Saves roughly €25 ($27)/day.
Gap Worth Filling
Medical evacuation isn't included.
Sapphire's emergency medical coverage tops out at $2,500 — fine for a clinic visit, not enough for an evacuation home. For a 10-day trip with boat days and cliffside terrain, a standalone evacuation rider runs $18 for the trip and covers up to $500K. Worth it.
What This Saves You
Most travelers buy a $89–$240 trip insurance bundle for a trip like this without realizing 80% of what they're paying for is already in their wallet. You're paying $18 for the one piece that actually matters.

ACCESSIBILITY
Always Free · A Layer Across Every Module
The trip adapts. Not the traveler.
Accessible stays, step-free routes, gentler pacing — automatic everywhere.
This Trip
No accessibility needs configured.
Nothing on this trip is being filtered for accessibility. Turn it on for any traveler — yourself or a companion — and the entire trip re-plans automatically. Options include wheelchair / mobility device, limited mobility, visual impairment, hearing impairment, and sensory sensitivities.
What Turning It On Changes
Stays filter to accessible rooms, elevator-required buildings, and roll-in showers. Transportation routes go step-free, with adapted transport surfaced first. Activities flag terrain, stairs, and sensory load. Dining shows entrance access and table spacing. Itinerary pacing gentles, with proximity to medical facilities weighed in every stay decision. This is filtering across all 26 modules — not a badge on a listing.
Never Gated
Accessibility is free on every tier. Always.
Safety is never a premium feature. Accessibility filtering works on the free Explorer tier, on every bundle, and for every traveler on a trip regardless of who owns the subscription. It lives in Your Life, so it preloads on every trip without re-entry.
Coming · The Accessibility Truth Layer
Traveler-verified, not listing-claimed.
Not "the listing claims step-free access" — but "travelers who use a wheelchair report a hidden step at the entrance and helpful staff inside." Built through the ROAM Network as crowd-sourced, verified intelligence that compounds with every trip. The data no booking platform will build.
Why This Module Exists
Most platforms treat accessibility as a checkbox filter that half the listings ignore. Romieaux treats it as a design layer: when a traveler declares a need once, every recommendation on every trip already accounts for it. The traveler plans a trip. The platform does the accommodation work.
SUSTAINABILITY
Lower Impact · Same Experience
Six swaps already in place.
None of them required compromise.
Stays
Le Sirenuse runs on 100% renewable electricity.
Two equally-rated hotels that don't disclose energy sources were filtered out. Le Sirenuse also sources 80% of its kitchen ingredients from within 50km — which is part of why the food is the food.
Transport
Trenitalia Frecciarossa, not the regional flight.
Rome to Naples by high-speed rail produces roughly 4kg of CO₂ per passenger. The same trip on a regional flight produces 47kg. The train is also faster door-to-door once you account for security and transfers — which is why Romieaux scheduled it that way regardless of the carbon math.
Dining
Three reservations are Slow Food affiliated.
La Sponda, Lo Guarracino, and the Ravello family farm tour all source from regional producers and follow Slow Food guidelines for biodiversity and fair labor. The food is better because of it, not despite it.
Activities
The boat charter operator runs a marine cleanup program.
This charter was chosen over two cheaper options because the operator partners with Marevivo on Mediterranean plastic recovery. Half a percent of every booking funds the cleanup work along the coast you'll be sailing.
The Footprint
1.8 tons of CO₂ for the full trip.
That's 22% lower than an unfiltered version of the same trip. The flights are the largest single component (1.4 tons) and the part that's hardest to reduce. The trip can be offset the trip through Gold Standard verified projects for $24.
How This Works
Sustainability isn't a separate filter you turn on. It's baked into how every recommendation is scored. The trips are built to be quietly lower-impact than the trips you'd build yourself — without ever asking you to choose between the experience and the planet.
TRANSLATION
More Than Words

EH-rah skwee-ZEE-toh · "It was exquisite" — the compliment that lands
The Things Tourists Get Wrong
Don't order a cappuccino after noon.
Italians treat cappuccino as a breakfast drink — milk after a meal is considered hard to digest. Order an espresso, a macchiato, or a caffè after lunch. This was flagged for La Sponda specifically because tourists order cappuccinos there constantly and the waitstaff are too polite to say anything.
"Ciao" is informal. Use "Salve" with strangers.
Ciao is for friends. With shopkeepers, hotel staff, and anyone older than you, "Salve" is the warm-but-respectful greeting that does not read as overly familiar.
Camera Translation · Always On
Point your phone camera at any menu, sign, or label. Translation happens in place — including handwritten chalkboards at family-run trattorias. Works offline once you've downloaded the Italian language pack (already done for you when you set the trip).
Medication Identification
Coming Soon
Forgot a medication? Scan what's at the pharmacy.
Point your camera at any pharmacy box abroad. Romieaux identifies the active ingredient, what it's commonly used for, and matches it to the brand name you'd recognize at home. If you've listed medications or allergies in your profile, you'll see soft flags — for example, a warning if the box contains ibuprofen and you take blood thinners.
Romieaux is not a healthcare provider. Identification is informational. Always confirm with a licensed pharmacist before taking any medication.
Available Now · Find a Pharmacist
Need a pharmacist who speaks English in Positano? Romieaux maintains a vetted list of local pharmacies near your stays, including which ones are open late and which staff speak your language. One tap to call, message, or get directions.
What's Different Here
Google Translate gives you words. You get context — when to use which phrase, what gestures land badly, and what tourist mistakes the locals notice but don't correct. Built from the ROAM Network's reports on what travelers wished they'd known sooner.
CLIMATE & CARBON
Destination Risk · Real-Time
The Amalfi Coast is changing.
What's Being Watched for your dates.
Conditions · April 14–24
Within historical norms.
Average highs of 65–72°F, low rain probability, sea temperatures still cool for swimming but warm enough for the boat charter. April is one of the most stable months on this coast — Romieaux chose the dates partly for that reason.
Pattern Deviations Watching
The Tyrrhenian Sea runs warmer than usual this year.
Mediterranean sea surface temperatures have run 1.5–2°C above the 30-year average for the past three springs. For your trip this means slightly warmer water for the Capri swim, and a higher chance of brief afternoon thunderstorms forming over the cliffs in late April. The 10-day forecast is being watched — we will move the boat day if needed.
Trip Footprint
1.8 tons of CO₂.
The flights account for 1.4 tons. Ground transport is 0.2. Stays and dining together are roughly 0.2. This is 22% lower than an unfiltered version of the same trip — the Frecciarossa-over-flight choice and the Le Sirenuse renewable energy sourcing do most of the work.
Lower-Carbon Alternative
If you wanted to cut the trip in half: 0.9 tons.
A 7-day version that swaps the JFK→FCO direct for a JFK→LIS→NAP routing on the airline with the highest fuel-efficiency score, plus skipping the Capri boat charter, drops the trip footprint to under 1 ton. Same coast, different shape. Romieaux can build it as a side-by-side if you ever want to see it.
Why This Module Exists
Climate change is reshaping where and when it makes sense to travel. Destinations that were reliable five years ago — Greek islands in summer, Venice in winter, southern Spain in late spring — are now genuinely unpredictable. The deviations are watched so you don't have to.
WELLNESS & HEALTH
Quietly Looking After You
Recovery built into the rhythm.
So you actually come back whole.
On The Itinerary · Already Booked
Le Sirenuse spa · Day 1, 4:30 PM.
A 90-minute signature spa massage on arrival day — the 6-hour time difference plus an overnight flight means your body is going to land with cortisol elevated and circulation tight. The massage is the recovery move, not the indulgence move. Included with your room.
Quietly Adjusted For You
Day 3 has nothing scheduled before noon.
The Capri boat day on Day 2 is physically more demanding than it looks — sun exposure, balance work on water, salt and dehydration. Day 3's first activity was pushed to 12:30 PM so you can sleep, hydrate, and not feel chased into the next thing. This is what pacing means in practice.
Pre-Trip · Already Done
Vaccinations checked. Prescriptions packed.
No additional immunizations required for Italy beyond your routine boosters — Romieaux verified against the CDC and WHO advisories for your travel dates. Your daily prescriptions cleared customs review (one of yours is regulated differently in the EU, so you have the documentation if anyone asks). Refills set to be available in Naples through a partner pharmacy if anything goes missing.
If Anything Goes Wrong
English-speaking care, mapped before you need it.
Three English-speaking physicians within 15 minutes of Le Sirenuse. The closest emergency-capable hospital that takes international patients is Ospedale Costa d'Amalfi, 22 minutes by car. Your Sapphire Reserve travel insurance plus the evacuation rider you added in Insurance covers up to $510,000 in medical costs. You'll never need to look any of this up — it's in the app, ready, in a moment when searching Google from a foreign hospital bed is the last thing anyone wants.
Why This Module Exists
Wellness travel isn't only spa retreats and yoga certifications. For most travelers, it's the quiet work of *not getting depleted* by the trip you came to enjoy. Recovery is scheduled into pacing, verifies your medications, maps medical care before you need it, and connects all of it to the insurance you already have. For travelers planning around specific health goals — detox programs, dental work abroad, marathon training, mental health recovery — this module unlocks deeper functionality including accredited facility discovery and pre-trip medical clearance coordination.
SOLO FEMALE
Active Intelligence · A Layer Across Every Decision
3 design decisions kept you safer this trip.
Romieaux made these on your behalf — without making the trip feel cautious.
Travel Mode · Your Choice
Affects what shows below.
"Both" — Safety intelligence + community visible. The default.
Decision 1 · Stay
Bisma Eight chosen over Villa Mathis (cheaper).
Single secured entry, female night concierge, in-house drivers. Open villa compounds rejected as a category for solo nights alone.
+$70/night
Decision 2 · Itinerary
Campuhan Ridge moved to 6:30am sunrise.
Recommended afternoon timing rejected — the trail is unmonitored after dark and you'd descend in low light. Sunrise version is busier, safer, and the photos are better.
No cost
Decision 3 · Transport
After-10pm rides routed to Bluebird only.
Gojek/Grab still default for daytime. After 10pm, the app silently switches to Bluebird dispatch (vetted, metered, traceable). You don't have to remember.
~+$3/ride
All three decisions made silently, surfaced here for transparency.

What This Looked Like · Day 3
"Driver tried to drop me 200m from the hotel. The app caught that his plate didn't match what was sent. I cancelled. Next driver was Bluebird. I never had to figure it out — the app just made it the right answer."
— A real moment, captured by the module's protocol checks. This is what the safety layer is for.
Solo Risk Profile · Ubud & Seminyak
Overall: Low-moderate
Daytime: Low
After 10pm: Moderate
Ubud is one of Southeast Asia's safest destinations for solo women — low violent crime, a long history of solo traveler tourism, strong spa/wellness infrastructure. Primary risks are non-violent: motorbike theft, opportunistic theft from unlocked villas, taxi scams, and unwanted attention in crowded markets. Seminyak at night (clubs, beach bars) is the only area where standard big-city caution applies.
Where You Are · Where You're Not
After dark — the map of yes and no.
✓
Central Ubud (Monkey Forest Rd, Jl. Hanoman)
Walkable until ~11pm. Well-lit, tourist-dense, shops open late. Your stay is 6 minutes from the main strip.
!
Seminyak beach strip (Jl. Kayu Aya)
Fine until 10pm with a group. Solo after 10pm, take a Bluebird taxi (not Gojek, not walking). Ka Beach Club and Potato Head maintain strong security.
✕
Kuta after 11pm
Skipped from your itinerary entirely. Aggressive street vendors, drink-spiking reports, known pickpocket zone. Nothing there worth the risk profile for a solo woman after late evening.
✕
Rice paddy walks between villages after sundown
Beautiful during the day, unlit and unmonitored after dark. The Campuhan Ridge Walk (your Day 3 plan) is scheduled for 6:30am sunrise — not after dark.
Why Bisma Eight · The Safety Math
Not the cheapest option. The right one.
Three Ubud stays scored higher on Booking.com for nightly price. Here's why Bisma Eight was chosen for a solo woman on a reset trip:
✓
Single secured entry. One lobby, 24-hour staff, key-card elevator to your floor. You don't walk through an open courtyard to your room at 11pm.
✓
Female concierge on night shift. The desk is staffed by Wayan (9pm–7am) — verified, English-speaking, rated 4.9 for solo female guest support.
✓
In-house transport arrangements. Bisma's driver network is vetted, flat-rate, and accountable. No negotiating on dark streets with unknown drivers.
✓
Restaurant and spa on property. Dinner alone does not require leaving the hotel on your most depleted nights.
✕
Skipped Villa Mathis ($180/night). Individual villa in a rice-paddy compound, single shared front gate, no night staff. Nicer in daytime photos — harder at midnight alone.
Transport Protocols · By Time Of Day
6am–
6pm
Gojek or Grab — ride-share apps
Cheap, GPS-tracked, driver photo and plate verified in-app. Share ride status to your trip companion (or Romieaux's check-in system) with one tap.
6pm–
10pm
Gojek OK, but verify plate before entering
Confirm plate, driver name, and destination shown on screen match before getting in. If the car does not match, don't enter — cancel and rebook. The $2 cancellation is irrelevant.
10pm–
2am
Bluebird taxi (the blue ones with "Bluebird Group" logo)
The one reliable, metered, traceable taxi company in Bali. Call +62 361 701 111 for dispatch, or request one from the hotel. Do not enter any other taxi that says "Bluebird" — there are clones. The real ones have the logo ring on the roof and a driver ID card visible on the dash.
Never
Street-hailed taxis or "transport, miss?" offers
The most common solo-female tourist issue in Bali is meter-rigging or off-route driving. Uber-priced, hard to dispute, and occasionally worse. The 3 minutes you save isn't worth it.
Quiet Check-In · Your Choice
Nightly check-in
Marisa (your sister) gets a "safe" text at 11pm. If you miss 2 check-ins, she gets a call.
Location sharing with Marisa
Live location visible only to her, only during this trip. Turns off automatically when you land home.
Community · Opt-In, Verified
3 verified solo female travelers in Ubud this week.
All have completed the Romieaux identity verification. Messaging is opt-in on both sides — no one sees you unless you both say yes.

Cultural Context · What's Normal vs. What's Not
Bali is a Hindu-majority island in a Muslim-majority country. The intersection creates specific social codes you'll want to read correctly:
Male attention at markets ≠ threat.
Vendor calls ("Hello miss, where you from?") are sales, not propositions. Politely smile and say "Tidak, terima kasih" (no thank you) and keep walking. This is normal commerce, not harassment.
Temple dress code is strict — and enforced.
Shoulders and knees covered. Sarongs are provided at most temple entrances. Menstruating visitors are traditionally asked not to enter temples — honor this even if not asked.
Eye contact with men — measure the room.
In Ubud/Seminyak tourist zones, normal. In rural villages or traditional warung settings, brief eye contact and a nod is enough. Sustained eye contact can be misread as interest.
Red flag behavior to exit from.
Drivers or guides offering "special tour" to a remote location. Anyone insisting on carrying your bag "to help." Drink orders appearing at your table unprompted. Trust the instinct — you can leave without explaining.
Why This Module Exists
Solo female travel is the fastest-growing segment in global travel — and the least well-served by mainstream booking platforms, which treat safety as a warning badge rather than a design layer. Romieaux's Solo Female module is integrated into every upstream decision: accommodation selection weighs solo-specific safety criteria, transport booking enforces verified providers at night, neighborhoods are pre-annotated by hour, and community is verified identity-first. The goal isn't to make you cautious — it's to make the cognitive work of staying safe disappear into the background, so you can actually rest.
